In Colombia, many children and young people continue to face fear, loneliness, and conflict that should not be part of their childhood, especially in rural and vulnerable communities. The lack of safe spaces and adequate emotional support limits their development and future opportunities.
For over nine years, Yumakids has been working with communities in Ibagué, offering mental health workshops that provide emotional, educational, and social tools to those who need them most. Our goal is clear: to support young people and their families in their personal, emotional, and social development, helping them build life paths with greater opportunities and stability.
This work is the result of a collective commitment. The Foundation’s team — Rubén, Patrycia, Greg, Asun, Guillermo, and our psychologist Elivey — works every day to accompany children and young people, creating safe spaces where they can express themselves, strengthen their self-esteem, and develop skills to face the challenges of their environment.
To ensure the continuity and expansion of these workshops, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign to reinforce our work in the field.
Contributions will help sustain and expand emotional support sessions and community workshops:
Every contribution, regardless of size, translates into more hours of listening, safer spaces, and greater development opportunities for those who need it most.
We invite everyone who wants to join this initiative to contribute and share the campaign within their networks. Strengthening communities begins with caring for their children and young people.
At Yumakids, we know that supporting each child by respecting their differences and recognizing their individual needs is essential to develop their talents and enable them to contribute actively to the uniqueness of their community and its collective resilience.
