APdeBA invites YumaKids to international dialogue on child sexual abuse

The online event, held on June 27, 2025, and coordinated by Mariana Cura (APdeBA),
featured psychoanalysts Hilda Botero (Colombian Psychoanalytic Association), Rosa Royo,
and Asunción Soriano (Spanish Psychoanalytic Society).

Discussions addressed various aspects of child sexual abuse—from organized crime to
domestic violence—and educational/community-based prevention strategies.
YumaKids presented the *Behind the Door* Theatre Forum, implemented in seven
Colombian schools and attended by more than 400 students and 100 adults. The
approach—art-based, participatory, and rooted in community building—was well received.

Participation in high-level forums like FEPAL and APdeBA strengthens YumaKids’ mission
to raise awareness, prevent abuse, and transform the realities faced by children affected by
conflict and violence.
