Resilience as a pillar of Youth Mental Health: "Rebuild Life" program in action

This is some text inside of a div block.

In regions like Tolima, where youngsters face adversity from conflict, poverty, and
displacement, strengthening this psychological resource becomes a top priority.
In October 2017, YumaKids launched the Rebuild Life program in two educational
institutions in Tolima. Starting on October 13, psychiatrist Dr. Inés Andreu Borràs facilitated
group sessions, supervised by Dr. Asunción Soriano, a psychiatrist specialist in adolescent
care, with active involvement from teaching staff.

These sessions form a structured, evidence-based intervention aimed at enhancing
resilience through group dynamics, shared reflection, and professional support. The
involvement of school staff ensures cultural relevance and continuity.

As a pilot phase, the program allows for evaluation and adaptation before expanding to
other urban and rural institutions. Tailoring the approach to each community’s needs is key
to its success.

We invite schools, organizations, donors, and authorities in Tolima to support Rebuild Life
and invest in adolescent emotional well-being by building resilient school environments.
