Supporting Families at Colegio San Pedro Alejandrino

This is some text inside of a div block.

The Foundation carried out a new session of the Multifamily Group this April at Colegio San Pedro Alejandrino in Ibagué (Tolima), with the participation of specialized professionals and families from the school community.

This intervention is part of the fieldwork being implemented across different educational contexts, aimed at strengthening the mental health of children and adolescents through community-based family support interventions.

A community-based intervention model

The Multifamily Group is a methodology that brings together several families in the same space alongside mental health professionals, fostering shared listening, the exchange of experiences, and the collective construction of meaning around emotional and relational difficulties.

This approach allows individual distress to be transformed into a collective learning process, promoting support networks among families and reducing isolation in situations of vulnerability.

Implementing these interventions within schools facilitates direct access to communities and integrates the work into the everyday environments of children and adolescents. Fieldwork carried out by professionals allows these methodologies to be adapted to local realities, ensuring a close, respectful intervention with a real impact on families’ daily lives.

The mental health of children and adolescents represents a growing global challenge, reinforcing the need for interventions that integrate family, school, and community as active agents in the support process.

In this context, group-based interventions such as the Multifamily Group are key tools for prevention, support, and the creation of more protective environments.

The organization acknowledges the participation of families as a fundamental element in the development of these interventions. Their involvement and trust 🤎🤝 are essential for the well-being of children and for strengthening community resilience 🌱.

The Foundation will continue promoting these community-based spaces across different territories, with the aim of strengthening the environments in which children grow and contributing to the development of more resilient communities.
