In the heart of Colombia’s capital, on August 1st, 2024, YumaKids Foundation held a heartfelt and meaningful charity event at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Bogotá. The main goal of the event was to raise funds to support the foundation’s social and mental health initiatives across Colombia and to highlight the positive impact of its work in vulnerable communities.

The evening was hosted by acclaimed actress María Cecilia Botero, known for both her artistic career and her deep commitment to social causes. As a close friend and collaborator of YumaKids, Botero brought a warm and personal tone to the event, underscoring the importance of the foundation’s work with adolescents and families in various regions of the country.

The gathering was surrounded by friends and supporters of the foundation. Our team presented the projects currently underway, and a young participant shared her personal experience from the workshops organized by YumaKids, moving many in the audience.

Alongside institutional presentations and testimonials, the evening was enlivened by a passionate and culturally rich performance by the group Casa Flamenco, adding an artistic and emotional layer to the occasion.

Throughout the night, attendees had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the initiatives led by the YumaKids team, who shared updates, personal stories, and future goals. One of the most touching moments came during the testimony of a young participant in the Mental Health Workshops for Adolescents, who spoke about her journey and how these workshops have positively transformed her life.

“Seeing a young person regain confidence and find tools to face their emotions thanks to our work is the greatest motivation to keep going,” expressed one of the foundation’s representatives during their speech.

The event was also a moment of gratitude toward donors, volunteers, and institutional allies whose support makes the continuation of these programs possible. New opportunities were also presented for those who wish to join the cause, both from within Colombia and abroad.

With this event, YumaKids reaffirms its commitment to the emotional and social development of children and adolescents and continues to strengthen its network of collaboration throughout the country to expand its impact and bring hope to those who need it most.
